This Sunday we will begin a new series through the book of Deuteronomy. Perhaps it has been awhile since you have read Deuteronomy or thought much about the details of the Old Testament. Even if that is not the case, everyone would find these three short videos helpful and, I think, fun.

Firstly, a helpful overview and refresher on the overall purpose of The Law –

Secondly, a very helpful overview of the book of Deuteronomy –

Lastly, a more detailed explanation of the content and structure of Deuteronomy (a number of the elements in the above videos are repeated) –

These three videos, in total, will take less than 30 minutes to watch. They would be excellent for the whole family.

I’m really looking forward to our study in Deuteronomy. From 2007 through 2010 I taught Old Testament Survey at a Bible College, six times in those four years. My major area of concentration during my second seminary degree program was Hebrew and the Old Testament. I’ve taught Hebrew and Old Testament studies as an adjunct at other Bible Colleges as well.

It is always a joy to give focused time and attention to any portion of God’s Word. Yet, because the Old Testament is often not as well known by many, even in the church, it is even more exciting to study and learn to apply rightly in our lives.

May the words of Deuteronomy 6:4-6 be evident in our lives as we grow through our study of this very significant portion of God’s precious Word together.

4 “Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one.
5 You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.
6 And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart.
